Kildwick and Farnhill, Canal Towpath Walk (Yorkshire, England)

Well, we finally managed to take advantage of the newly restored towpath between Kildwick and Farnhill running alongside the Leeds-Liverpool canal in the Yorkshires Aire Valley. We always found that stretch of the canal walk very charming but often very treacherous, as often the muddy path in its previous state was just too much of a challenge. Lured by the promise of its renovation we were waiting… and waiting… and finally: voila! It is there and what a joy it was to launch ourselves for a morning walk. The views, the wildlife, the courtesy of other towpath users and the summery weather were just perfect to make our day! We couldn’t have wished for more, but the path itself was the star of the show.
